new product—Thermowood® Cladding

For centuries, burning wood in an open fire has been known to enhance its durability for outdoor use. Even the Vikings used this tried-and-tested technique for constructing fences. Now there's a modern alternative to this ancient concept: Thermowood®. By subjecting Finnish-grown Pine and Spruce to temperatures exceeding 200°C, Thermowood® undergoes chemical and structural changes that result in a more robust and weather-resistant material, perfect for cladding external walls in exposed areas.

One of the unique features of Thermowood®-D (pine) is its varying colour, which depends on the treatment temperature and duration. Higher temperatures yield a darker appearance, adding to its aesthetic charm. With a desired service life of 30 years, Thermowood®-D (pine) exterior cladding is both durable and low maintenance, making it an ideal solution for sustainable building design.

Properties

Durable and low-maintenance
Heat-treated Finnish Pine and Spruce

new product—Bamboo Cladding

Bamboo cladding is a sustainable and eco-friendly substitute for composite, plastic, or tropical hardwood materials. Bamboo's rapid growth rate allows for harvesting in just 4-5 years, making it an easily renewable resource. Its natural aesthetic, high density, and stability make bamboo cladding a durable option with a lifespan of up to 30 years. Bamboo cladding installation is also a hassle-free and straightforward process.

Ideal for both domestic and commercial use, the raw bamboo material undergoes a carbonization process at high heat pressure of 160°C for a specific period, effectively removing sugar, nutrients, and worm eggs. A specialized drying technique then ensures consistent moisture content throughout the bamboo boards, preventing water accumulation and inhibiting fungi growth, thus ensuring a high-quality and durable end product.

Properties

 Eco-friendly, sustainable resource
 Rot-resistant
 Easy install and low-maintenance

Shiplap boards

Shiplap cladding is another superb timber product commonly used in the construction of sheds, summerhouses, garages, and house walls. Made from pressure-treated softwood, which undergoes a special treatment process to enhance its durability and resistance to moisture and decay, this is a construction material designed to last. The pressure treatment involves impregnating the wood with preservatives under high pressure, which helps to protect it from rot, insects, and other forms of decay.

After the pressure treatment, shiplap cladding is kiln-dried, which removes moisture and increases its stability. Kiln drying helps to minimize the risk of the wood twisting, warping, or splitting, ensuring that the shiplap boards maintain their shape and structure over time.

The surface of shiplap cladding is planed, providing a smooth finish that is ready for painting, varnishing, or staining. The highly versatile and customizable nature of shiplap cladding provides customers with a wide range of design options and finishes to match the aesthetic of the surrounding environment or structure.

Properties

Manufactured from hardy, pressure-treated Scandinavian redwood, tongue and groove (TGV) cladding boards are known for their durability and resistance to decay. The pressure treatment process involves impregnating the wood with preservatives, which enhances its ability to withstand the elements, making it ideal for outdoor applications.

TGV cladding’s interlocking edge design allows the boards to fit snugly together—which not only provides a neat, aesthetically pleasing finish, but also creates a tight seal that helps to prevent moisture from penetrating the cladding, making it highly weatherproof. TGV cladding is suitable for use in both residential and agricultural buildings where protection from the elements is essential.

The term "featheredge" refers to the tapered edge of the boards, which creates a layered effect when installed on a building's exterior.

The featheredge boards used in this type of cladding are pressure-treated to enhance their durability and resistance to decay, insects, and weathering. With its distinctive fine-sawn timber finish, providing its rustic, textured appearance, featheredge boards are perfect for traditional outdoor settings and agricultural buildings.
